To customize the HOME SCREEN and make the Android App yours, click on the "Settings" Icon with in the taskbar.

(1) Add your Company Logo and Contact details, these will appear on the "Home Screen" and as the Header of the Security Officers Report PDF that you email and/or store in the "Closed Jobs" screen.
(2) Add three "Quick Dial" numbers with custom labels, these will appear on the "Home Screen" of the App.

If you're use to using the iPhone version of Guard Buddy you'll notice these screens look the same.

From the HOME SCREEN click CREATE JOBS to start using the app.

Screen 1 - Select A Report Type

After you click CREATE JOBS you are given a choice between two kinds of reports.

The first report option is a "GENERAL SECURITY REPORT" This report is smaller than the second type and is mainly used by Mobile Patrol Officers or Static Guards to report general  security incidents found during routine inspections. The second option is  "ALARM RESPONSE REPORT" , this is used for reporting attended Alarm Responses or Unscheduled Call-outs.

"General Security Report Option"

Screen 1 - Site Details:
(1) Tell the App the particulars of the client you are writting the report for. You can choose to enter the information manually with an option to add these details to your phone contacts for next time or select the information from your existing phone contacts. The "Job Name:" field data is selected from the "Company name" in you phones contact card file. The App will automatically generate a Job (record) number.  Further down you can enter the Date & Time of the report.
There is 5 Mandatory Fields Clearly Marked with (*): Job Name, Job Address, Suburb, State, Date/Time Reported.

Screen 3 - Scene Photos Screen:
(a) As with the Scene Photo Screen for the Alarm Response Report Section, Click "ADD-MORE" to add up to 5 photos from your camera or library at the time. After you have selected a photo, you can then enter a brief description for it, to explain the scene further. Click "Save" after entering the scene descriptions. If you need to change something within the description, Click "Edit". To add another Scene Photo click "ADD MORE".

Screen 4 - Report & Email Screen:
(1) Here you can enter "Additional Comments" for your report. Click "Save" when you've finished the report. If you need to change something within the report, click "Edit" then when you've finished editing "Save" Again. 

For incidents Mobile Patrol or Static Guard Security Officers come across during their routine inspections, we've left check boxes for you to tick for Attempted or Confirmed Break & Enters with space for Key holders/Police Names and their Arrival Times. Keep track of who wrote the report and assure your clients you are a licensed professional by filling in the Attending Security Officer Information.

Finally you need to tell the App if you would like to "Save and Close (Finalise) the General Security Report" or "Save and Email (Finalize) the General Security Report.

To Save and Close the report, click the "Save & Close" button, this finalizes the job and saves all of the data in the "Closed Jobs Section".  This report is still editable from the "Closed Jobs" section even after finalising, unlike the iPhone Version.

To Save and Email the Report, you can tick the boxes for one or all of the following and it will send it to the email address's populated in the "Site Details" screen ("Job Email"). If you tick the box "My Email" it will also send an email report to the email address used on your Home Screen. You can also enter an email address in "Enter other Email", then send the report to that one as well or on its own. Enter an "Email Subject" if you like then click "Save & Email".

(2) This will open your phones email client, you can enter additional info into the body of the email and then click "Send" as usual. You'll need to have your email setup within your phone to send reports.

There is 1 Mandatory Field Clearly Marked with (*): Security Officer Name.

(3) This Report is now Considered Closed. All of the information pertaining to this Report has been compiled into a Security Officer General Security/Incident Report (PDF Format) and sent as an attachment to the email addresses you selected. Also a copy of this PDF has been saved in the "Closed Jobs" Section. The PDF Report is saved as what ever name you entered in the "Job Name" field,  Example: Johns_Warehouse.pdf  Click here to view example of the emailed General Security PDF Report.

"Alarm Response Report Option"

Screen 1 - Site Details:
(1) First the App needs to know where the Alarm Response or Call-out job is. You can choose to enter the information manually with an option to add these details to your phone contacts for next time or select the information from your existing phone contacts. The "Job Name:" field data is selected from the "Company name" in you phones contact card file. Once the contact details have been entered, you can then click on "Get Directions" at anytime. Your Android Default Maps App will then open and guide you at street level in Real Time to the job location. Once there return to Guard Buddy to continue actioning the job details. This will save you time for new or irregular clients, now there is no need to enter the details into your GPS Navigator Unit or Software App again. The App will automatically generate a job number (if your concerned about where job numbers will go that are given to you, don't be, we have thought of everything, keep reading). Further down you'll find a drop down list for the Job Description.

(2) Next you can record who requested the Alarm response or Call-out. Again you can choose to enter the information manually with an option to add these details to your phone contacts for next time or select the information from your existing phone contacts. The "Requested By:" field data is selected from the "Company name" in you phones contact card file. Simply click the "Call Back" button to call the requesting contact back. You'll also see a Reference Number space if you need it for a Control Room Job number and a Date/Time the job was Requested, Zone Number and Zone Description Fields.
There is only 1 Mandatory Field Clearly Marked with (*): Requested By.

(3) You may not require it but we added the following just in case. Record in the App who you will be Billing for this job, the contact details can be added the same as above. The "Billing Name:" field data is selected from the "Company name" in you phones contact card file. We've added room for yet another Reference Number here, we've left nothing to chance. For the times a client requires a guard to let them in or out of a locked premise, Tick Yes or No if fees were collected by the guard at the time of this service. Also If Random Patrols have been requested, you can enter how many.

Screen 2 - Job Details Screen:
(a) If a specific detailed report isn't required, simply select from the generic text in the "Patrol Quick Note" Dropdown list (There is more room for extra comments on the next two screens, don't worry). Next select your Arrival Date/Time. We've left check boxes for you to tick for Attempted or Confirmed Break & Enters with space for Key holders/Police Names and their Arrival Times. Keep track of who wrote the report and assure your clients you are a licensed professional by filling in the Attending Security Officer Information.

Open Jobs Screen:
If Guard Buddy gets interrupted by a phone call or any other reason while you were entering data, this is where pending/unfinished jobs can be easily accessed from.

"A" in the "CODE" Column indicates an Alarm Response Report.

"G" in the "CODE" Column indicates an General Security Report.

To Open a job and continue actioning it, simply click on a "Job Name". If you'd like to delete an open job for any reason, simply tick the corresponding box to the desired open job and click "Delete Selected Items".

Closed Jobs Screen:
Easily access completed/finished jobs from the "Closed Jobs" Screen.

"A" in the "CODE" Column indicates an Alarm Response Report.

"G" in the "CODE" Column indicates an General Security Report.

To Open a job and view it, simply click on a "Job Name".If you'd like to email a closed job, simply tick the corresponding box(s) to the desired closed job(s), enter an email address and click "Email Selected Items".If you'd like to delete a closed job for any reason, simply tick the corresponding box(s) to the desired closed job(s) and click "Delete Selected Items". All of the closed jobs are editable. This is not the case for the iPhone Version.
